Taken on the island of Hvar, Croatia.
We hiked up to an abandoned village on the mountainside. It was one of the most surreal experiences. There was a fire a year before, and supposedly the people who lived there just packed up and left their summer homes and haven't returned since. Some doors were open, giving a view into the lives of each of the owners - old photographs on the wall, rusted utensils, a ping-pong table. This arrangement especially caught my eye. Where is the wrinkly old man that should be sitting on the chair, basking in the sun, drinking wine? |
